Targeting Hope is an annual clay shoot tournament that benefits the HCA Healthcare family through the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund. The tournament was first held in 2019, under the name Shooting for Hope, as a partnership between Orange Park Hospital (then Orange Park Medical Center) and Commercial Construction Services. Richard Michaux, the former Director of Facilities at Orange Park Hospital, and Dan Davis, President and Owner of Commercial Construction Services, believed that a clay shoot tournament would be the best way to raise funds for those within the HCA Healthcare family that were in need.

In its inaugural year, the tournament exceeded expectations with 83 shooters in attendance. From sponsorships, registrations, golf cart drawing ticket sales, and chance drawing ticket sales, the event was able to donate $25,000.00 to the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund.

Since the inaugural tournament, the tournament has added Memorial Hospital, another local HCA Healthcare affiliate, as a founding partner. In addition to the founding partners, the event established a committee with representatives from local businesses that help support local HCA Healthcare facilities. The committee includes representatives from Miller Electric Company, Brown Enterprises, W.W Gay, and Robins & Morton.

While the 2020 tournament was cancelled due to coronavirus, the event was still able to donate $62,000.00 to the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, teams, and those that purchased golf cart drawing tickets. Before the events cancellation, 117 shooters were signed up to attend and over 1,100 golf cart drawing tickets were purchased.

In an effort to better align with the goals of the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund and HCA Healthcare, the tournament's committee decided to change the name of the fundraiser from Shooting for Hope to Targeting Hope after the 2020 event. We also changed our branding to better align with the branding changes made by HCA Florida Healthcare, Orange Park Hospital, and Memorial Hospital.

Since its inception in 2019, Targeting Hope has raised over $250,000.00 for the Hope Fund.
